A Hybrid Whale Optimization with Seagull Algorithm for Global Optimization Problems

Seagull optimization algorithm (SOA) inspired by the migration and attack behavior of seagulls in nature is used to solve global problem. However, like other well-known metaheuristic algorithms, SOA has low computational accuracy premature convergence. Therefore, current work, these problems are solved proposing modified version SOA. This paper proposes a novel hybrid algorithm, called whale with seagull (WSOA), for solving problems. The main reason that spiral prey very similar predation bubble net, WOA strong search ability. firstly, this combines WOA’s contraction surrounding mechanism SOA’s improve calculation Secondly, levy flight strategy introduced into formula SOA, which can effectively avoid convergence algorithms balance exploration exploitation among more effectively. In order evaluate effectiveness problems, 25 benchmark test functions tested, WSOA compared seven famous algorithms. Statistical analysis results comparison show obvious advantages Finally, four engineering examples tested proposed feasibility verified.
